
Maryl has been teaching yoga for over twelve years, and currently runs the Mysore Ashtanga program at The Yoga Shala.

Maryl loves the opportunity to work one-on-one with students in learning a practice they can memorize and rely on beyond their time in the Mysore room.

Maryl is the co-owner of Georgetown Yoga, Dupont Circle Yoga, The Yoga Shala, & Emissary.
With a background in Massage Therapy, Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and continuing education in Somatic Experiencing, Maryl approaches yoga from a healing perspective that attends to mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. She offers particular sensitivity to the ways yoga can support healing pain associated with trauma.

She believes in the transformative power of consistent practice recommended through the Ashtanga system, and loves the opportunity to work one-on-one with students in learning a practice they can memorize and rely on beyond their time in the Mysore room.
